<div itemprop="description">Eamon Hegarty <br />(ret&rsquo;d Northern Telecom) <br /> <br />With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Eamon Hegarty on September 12 one month shy of his 83rd birthday. From his humble beginnings in Montreal, Eamon was one of nine children growing up in Point St. Charles. With the passing of his mother at an early age Eamon and his siblings were raised by his older sisters, which is something that he remained grateful for throughout his life. He later graduated from McGill University before working as a Certified General Accountant at Nortel for 41 years. He is survived by His loving Wife of 54 years Barbara, his 2 children Colleen (Ted Mooney), Patrick (Lisa) and predeceased by his son Kevin. Devoted, loving and proud Papa to four grandsons Brendan, Eamon, Colin and Seamus. Eamon is survived by his sisters Sheila Lamont and Maureen Bonin, predeceased by his parents Anne &amp; John Hegarty and his siblings: Kevin, May, Anne &ldquo;Sis&rdquo;, Paddy, Eileen, and Margaret. Eamon will be deeply missed by many as he was a caring, ethical practical man who loved to lend a hand. He volunteered with Pensioners Concerned doing income tax for seniors. He always went above and beyond and his legacy will live on through the countless people whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed. <br /> <br />Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Church St, Belleville on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Interment St. James Cemetery. Services entrusted to BURKE FUNERAL HOME (613-968-6968). If desired, donations to the Belleville General Hospital ~ &quot;I'm In&quot; (Oncology Department) would be appreciated.</div>
