<div itemprop="description">MacNEIL, James B. (Jim) - It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather and friend. After a two year battle with cancer, Jim passed away at the Belleville General Hospital on Monday, June 27th, 2016 at the age of 78. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Jane (nee - Brown). Loved father of Tracey Wells (Dan) of Belleville, Jason (Karen) of Hillsburgh, John (Hilary) of Ottawa. Papa to Haley, Brady, Nick, Lucas and Jamie. Jim is survived by his sister Margaret (Johnnie) of Halifax, sister in laws Roberta of Port Hope, Martha of Creignish and brother in law Ernie Brown of Toronto. Predeceased by his parents Alex Dan and Florence MacNeil, brothers John, Archie, Michael, Dan C. and sisters Kay, Sadie and Hughanna. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. Although Jim came to Ontario almost 60 years ago, a large part of his heart remained in Cape Breton. He has left a large hole in many hearts. <br> <br>Friends are invited to visit at the BURKE FUNERAL HOME (613-968-6968) 150 Church Street, Belleville on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated in Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church on Friday, July 1st, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to B.G.H. Oncology Department or Hospice Quinte would be appreciated by the family.
