Its all about the bass…

Wayne Edwin Barnes entered into rest on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Kingston General Hospital at the age of 62.

Wayne was born in Brampton, Ontario on August 19, 1954 to Lloyd and Beulah Barnes. He grew up in many Canadian cities, including Port Hardy, B.C., Montreal Quebec and attended Hill Park Secondary School in Hamilton Ont. After graduating, Wayne moved to Picton to attend college, where he met his future bride, Barbara. It was in Belleville that he began a 34 year career with Proctor & Gamble. Wayne loved fishing in the Bay of Quinte, especially during Bass season, but was always "out-fished" by his wife, children and grandchildren! Later in life, Wayne's favourite "child" became his cat, Tippy, whom he adored. Wayne will be remembered fondly for his constant cheating during family games, his great sense of humour, and love of practical jokes.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Barbara (nee McBride), daughter Crystal (Derek), son Paul, and his cherished grandchildren Nevaeh and Katelyn. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Marlene Morris (Fred) and Janine Auchterlonie (Steve), brother and sisters in law, cousins and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will take place in the BURKE FUNERAL HOME (613-968-6968) 150 Church Street, Belleville on Saturday, September 17th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation commencing from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hamilton Ontario at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Kingston General Hospital for their unceasing care of Wayne and to family and friends for all of their support.
